Planning your Lapland adventure? Here’s 3 things to take into account!

When you start planning your trip to Lapland, especially for the first time, there are many things you have to consider and yes, it can be overwhelming. From ‘what to wear?’ to ‘what’s the weather like?’, we’ve got you covered. So, here we have listed 3 topics you should know about, while planning your trip!

How to dress for winter in Lapland - and is it possible to rent?

A big part of planning any trip is packing all the right stuff. During winter the clothes get thicker and heavier, so they tend to take up a lot of space from your luggage and buying expensive, brand new jacket, boots, beanie, and gloves for the trip isn’t practical or sustainable at all. The best way to save some space from your luggage (and also your money) is to rent your winter wear!

Renting your winter wear can also become a part of the experience: relieve some of your stress, less packing and less hassle, since you can also have your rentals delivered to your accomodation. We offer premium winter wear, so you stay warm - without compromising style! All you have to do is pack some essentials, plan your trip and rent your clothing with us, so we can take care of the rest.

How to prepare for the weather in Lapland?

Having high-quality winter clothing in Lapland is not just great to have, but also essential!  The weather in Lapland during winter can be extremely cold, especially during frost the temperature can be as low as -30 celsius (-22F). What makes it even more chilling is the wind. To fully enjoy the arctic, make sure you dress up in wind-proof clothes and cover up with for example scarfs to protect exposed skin.

Since the weather in Lapland can change fast and be surprise especially travelers unfamiliar with Arctic weather, it is really important to focus on finding the best clothing to stay warm and dry, so you get to enjoy your trip without freezing or feeling uncomfortable. To experience the breathtaking Arctic while being comfortable, make sure to dress up in layers and high-quality outdoor clothing. From us you can rent both your outdoor winter clothing and additional gear for all weather conditions.

Are there any other must-know tips for Lapland?

We all rely very much on our smartphones, which is great and you definitely should download at least Google Maps, weather app, 112 Suomi (in case of an emergency) and if you want to catch some northern lights, there are some Aurora apps available. But in the Arctic weather using your smartphone might become a little difficult. The weather can be so cold that it affects your smartphone’s battery. So make sure to keep your phone in your inner pockets and consider buying a powerbank. One more essential thing you might not have thought about packing is sunglasses! During sunny days the snow can sparkle like glitter, which is obviously beautiful to look at, but also quite uncomfortable without any sunglasses.

We hope these tips and facts will help you plan your trip and make your stay in Lapland unforgettable! If you are interested in renting your winter clothing from us, don’t hesitate to contact us - we’d love to hear from you!
