Travelling to Lapland - tips for your arctic adventure
Flying is the easiest and the most common way to reach Lapland, but it often leaves travelers with a few unanswered questions. Here we have gathered some luggage tips, flight tips and information about our renting possibilities! At the end of the blog, you can find a conclusion shaped as a packing list, which you might find helpful.
Lapland luggage tips for winter travel
Winter clothes are the base and the basics for any Lapland trip during winter. But they are expensive to buy new and even if you already own some, they are hard to fit into your luggage. Some airlines also limit their passengers luggages, which is why it is a lot easier, cheaper and convenient to rent your winter clothing. This way you can get premium winter clothes without having to pay extra fees for excess baggage and you can fit more important stuff in your luggages.
From us you can rent your winter clothes straight to your accommodation. We take care of everything from delivering to pick-up. If you want to learn more about our booking process, check out our blog about it here. We offer rentals in Levi and Ylläs, which are close to Kittilä airport. You can get direct flights for example from Helsinki to Kittilä.

What should I pack for a Lapland trip?
Since you can rent the most important winter gear from us, here’s some recommendations for what you should bring yourself that fit into your luggage easily. Knitted woolen socks and sweaters are a bare minimum, either as an extra layer for really harsh days or for cozying up inside your accommodation. A woolen scarf is also a must for extra wind-protection.
Other things you might want to pack are sunglasses for the glistering snow, a powerbank for your mobile phone and a flashlight just in case there aren’t street lights around when you are walking around in evenings.
Some essential things you should definitely pack are a small first aid kit, lip balm, sunscreen and hand cream. Lip balm and hand creme help in freezing temperatures to protect your skin from frost, sun and dryness. The first aid kid is for precaution, hopefully you won't have to actually use it!
